Alchemy Factory FAQ
All Questions
What is Alchemy Factory?
Alchemy Factory is a medieval automation game by the three-person studio D5 Copperhead, published by Gamirror Games. You run an alchemist's shop: buy plots of land, build conveyor belts, furnaces, cauldrons and portals to automate production, then sell potions, jewellery and seven relics to customers or fulfil dispatch contracts. It launched in Early Access on 12 December 2025 and reached version 1.0 on 8 September 2026.
Was Alchemy Factory removed from Steam?
Yes, briefly. On 13 December 2025 players noticed a background track resembled music from RuneScape. The developers removed the third-party track that evening, but a DMCA notice from Jagex reached Valve while the team was firefighting the v0.4.1 crash bug, and the game was delisted on 23 December. It was relisted on 30 December 2025, and owners could keep playing throughout. The replaced score now includes a theme by Witcher 3 composer Mikolai Stroinski.
Is it Alchemy Factory or Alchemist Factory?
Alchemy Factory. Guides and even the game's own fans say 'Alchemist Factory' out loud, and 'alchemy factorio' turns up in search too, but the Steam listing is Alchemy Factory, app 3669570. It is also not Liz and Rose's Alchemy Factory, a different game that shares two words of the name.
Is Alchemy Factory multiplayer?
Yes. Steam lists Online Co-op and LAN Co-op. The host turns on multiplayer when creating or loading a save and invites Steam friends from the ESC menu, or friends use Join Game on the friends list. Version 1.0 added a public lobby in the main menu, a join code so non-friends can connect, and an experimental dedicated server.
How many players can play together?
The developers have not published a player cap. The FAQ describes inviting Steam friends, the 1.0 notes describe public servers hosted by other players, and the June 2026 chat commands include /list and /kick for hosts, which implies more than two, but no official maximum is stated.
Is Alchemy Factory on Xbox, PS5 or Switch?
No. It is a Windows PC game on Steam only, and none of the 64 official announcements mention a console version. See the platforms page for the full status table, including the developer's controller reply.
Does Alchemy Factory have controller support?
Not at 1.0. On 8 September 2026 a developer answered the request thread on the Steam board: they will explore controller support after 1.0 'but we can't promise we can do it.' Keys can be remapped in Options, Keybindings.
Where are blueprints saved?
Press Q to open the blueprint interface and click Export; it opens the folder that holds the blueprint files. Since v0.4.2.3924 blueprints are saved as .png images, and the older .af files still load. To move a blueprint to another PC, copy the file into the same folder path there. Steam Workshop uploads and subscriptions also go through the Q menu.
Why is nobody buying from my shelves?
Customers only buy items on their shopping list, and before 1.0 they could only reach shelves on the wooden ground floor connected to the main gate; a '!' over a shelf means it is unreachable. Since 1.0 customers can navigate upper floors. If expensive goods like diamonds or relics stopped selling after the 1.0 update, that is the new Shop Recognition system: you now buy licences from the shopkeeper in the middle of the town shop to unlock those customers.
What is the currency exchange rate?
1 gold coin = 100 silver coins = 100,000 copper coins, exchanged at the Bank Portal with no fee. Coin stacks on a belt cap at 50, and a coin used as a cauldron ingredient locks about 5,000 of that coin inside the cauldron.
Is there a demo?
There was. The demo ran through 2025 (Steam Next Fest, Tokyo Game Show) and was removed when Early Access launched on 12 December 2025; demo saves were never compatible with the full game. As of the 1.0 launch there is no demo on the store page.
What did 1.0 change?
Wagon rail logistics, the Grand Portal, Brew Barrel beverages, the Arcane Fountain, customers walking to upper floors, Shop Recognition replacing the Reputation meter, Brick and Marble building sets, non-production devices moving from the tech tree to the Workbench, a multiplayer lobby with join codes and a dedicated server, plus the removal of base heat cost on furnaces. The full list is on the 1.0 changes guide.
Is there an Alchemy Factory subreddit or Discord?
Yes to both. r/AlchemyFactory is the community subreddit, and the Discord invite is the support link on the Steam store page. The developers post patch previews and the blueprint-sharing events on Discord first.
Does the game use AI-generated content?
The developers have not published a statement, and as of 9 September 2026 the Steam store page carries no AI Generated Content Disclosure section, which is the box Valve requires when generative AI is used in a shipped game. That is the only verifiable signal. The 1.0 soundtrack credits a named human composer.
