What is working in its favour
- ✅ Cauldrons turn any three inputs into a product, which gives the mid-game a genuinely alchemical feel no other factory game has
- ✅ Seven relics, five jewels, five ingots and a potion ladder give the late game real depth; guides report 200+ skill points before calling a run finished
- ✅ Online and LAN co-op, plus a public lobby, join codes and a dedicated server since 1.0
- ✅ Steam Workshop with over 3,500 blueprints, and a Sandbox Mode for testing designs
- ✅ A three-person team that shipped at least one update a month through Early Access and answers on Discord and the Steam board
What demo players actually complained about
- ❌ Old saves are awkward in 1.0: the Workbench moved, some players cannot find catapults or bridges, and multi-hotbar scrolling broke on launch day
- ❌ Large saves reported five to twelve minute load times after the 1.0 update, acknowledged by a developer
- ❌ No controller support, no macOS or console version, and no promise of either
- ❌ A recurring complaint that the world is visually grey and the NPCs lifeless compared with the colourful key art
- ❌ Cauldron recipes can silently change after a rebalance patch, which has broken existing factories twice
